The Power of Real Support: Why You Need a Village in Business

Entrepreneurship can feel empowering… and also incredibly lonely.
In the early days of my business, I wore every hat. I was the strategist, the doer, the marketer, the decision maker and everything in between. I had two toddlers at home (side note: parenting while building a business is a beast of its own), and I kept waiting for someone to notice I needed support.
Spoiler alert: they didn’t.
I joined networking groups that promised community and connection, only to be met with people who saw me as a source of free expertise not a peer. You know those coffee chats that are supposed to be a “get to know you” and suddenly turn into a strategy session you didn’t sign up for? Yeah… I’ve had more of those than I care to count.
I know I’m not alone. So many entrepreneurs tell me the same story: trying to do it all, feeling unseen in the spaces they join, and pouring from an already empty cup. It’s draining. It’s discouraging and it’s just not sustainable.
These feelings don’t just drain your energy—they chip away at your confidence and passion.
You start questioning your value, wondering if you’re the problem. But here’s what I’ve learned the hard way:
When you're constantly giving to people who only take, it’s not you, it’s the room you're in.
Some people will benefit from your brilliance but never give back. They’ll celebrate your insights, lean on your generosity… and vanish the moment you need support in return
I’ve come to realize something important:
Sometimes the people who truly get it aren’t the ones you expect — they’re total strangers.
Strangers become your biggest supporters because they know the weight you’re carrying. They’ve built offers from scratch, navigated messy CRMs, pulled all-nighters for launches, and cried in the bathroom between Zoom calls. They don’t just talk community — they live it.
And those people change everything.
When the Right Room Changes Everything: Real Stories of Business Support that Matters.
Last month during our office hours/mastermind session, we had a full-on venting session — the kind that only happens when people feel safe. One of our members had been taken advantage of. She joined a networking group expecting support and ended up feeling drained, overlooked, and used for her skills. Her story wasn’t unique — I’ve heard it far too many times.
Another member was in the thick of a massive life transition. She was moving both her business and her home. The stress was real. But during our 5-day business challenge, something shifted. She said:
“This has been a really fun week of activities. It allowed me to get focused and have at least one or two wins every day. Even with two photoshoots at the end of the week, I was able to get a lot accomplished.”
She ended the week with clarity, energy, and a renewed sense of momentum and we’re now building out her dream event together.
Then there was a colleague I recently had a coffee chat with. She’d been in a car accident. When I asked who had checked in on her, her answer? No one.
Let me be clear: If you’re in a village that doesn’t notice your absence, you’re in the wrong village.
You Deserve a Room That Actually Sees You
Entrepreneurship is hard enough without navigating it alone. You deserve to be in a space where:
Your wins are celebrated.
Your struggles are understood.
Your voice matters.
And your absence is noticed.
Because no matter how smart, strategic, or scrappy you are business isn't meant to be built in isolation.
This Is Your Sign to Find a New Room
That’s exactly why I created the Empire Business Collective. Not another networking group. Not another salesy “support” space, but a real, aligned community for entrepreneurs ready to stop surviving in business and start thriving with others.
If you’ve been doing it alone, exhausted by surface-level spaces and tired of pouring from an empty cup, this is your sign to find a new room.
The Empire Business Collective is a space where:
We normalize being vulnerable about business struggles
We offer support and strategy
We celebrate your wins — big and small
And yes, we notice when you’re missing
This is about real community and to protect that, we have a short application process, not to keep people out, but to keep the space safe. If you're an entrepreneur building something meaningful, you're welcome here. (We do not accept MLMs — this isn’t the space for that model.)
And the best part?
Membership is just $33/month. Yep. For less than a weekly latte run, you get access to a room full of brilliant, supportive humans who actually care.
👉🏾 Click here to join the Collective — and finally feel supported in business by people who see you, hear you, and have your back.
Because the right village doesn’t just cheer you on they walk beside you.
